Dato Hamzah bin Abdul Majid, MA (Econs. and Political Science)
(Chairman of Cempaka Holding)


Born in Kuala Lumpur in 1936. Former Malaysian diplomat and senior civil servant. As a diplomat, he served in Vietnam as the Malaysian Charge d'Affairs (1963-67); As a civil servant, he served as Principal Assistant Secretary, the National Operations Council; Under Secretary, Prime Minister's Department; Director General, Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment; Director General, Department of the Civil Aviation Department; Chairman of the Administration Tribunal of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO, Montreal, Canada); Secretary General, Ministry of Culture and Tourism. He was also chairman of PTM Thompson (M); chairman of Club Med (M); and also served on the Board of Directors of MAS, for eleven years. He is now retired, and serves as Chairman of Cempaka Holdings, a family owned company. During a long and distinguished career in the Government service, he was decorated with KMN, SMS, and DPMS.
Matthias Gelber
(The Greenest Person on the Planet Award in 2008)


Matthias Gelber is an international trainer, speaker and business man with experience in 38 countries worldwide covering both the public and private sector. His focus areas have been environmental management and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) over the last 15 years. He was given the Greenest Person on the Planet award in 2008 by 3rdwhale.com and he was recently named one of the Men of the Year by in Malaysia by the Magazine Clive. Matthias started a volunteer movement called Eco Warriors Malaysia which has focused on mobilizing Malaysians to take practical green actions, such as tree planting and recycling. Matthias brought as well the Awakening the Dreamer movement to Malaysia, which looks at how we can live a life that is more connected with sustainable living and social justice.

Matthias is a member of the board of INEM, the International Network of Environmental Management. He has served on the strategic planning group of ISO (International Standards Organization) TC 207 and has been a member of ISO TC 207 and the BSI (British Standards Organization) Committee on EPE for many years. Matthias was the project champion of the UK government funded supply chain initiative project Acorn which resulted in the publication of British Standard BS 8555. He regularly chairs and speaks at international events in the fields of Construction, Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental issues.
David G Taylor, M.Ed., B.Ed., T.Cert. FRGS
(Executive Principal, International School Brunei)


David has been teaching on the international school circuit since 1974 and has served as principal in four schools, across the globe, over the last twenty five years. In his current position as Executive Principal of ISB he has brought the school to full accreditation status with the Council of International Schools.

David is passionate about education for sustainable development and is working with national government and partners in the private sector to conserve forest areas in support of the Heart of Borneo Initiative. ISB Million Trees Project currently supports two reforestation projects in the Kinabatangan Basin of Sabah, one in Sarawak within the area of the Bakan Dam and one in Brunei in the designated area of the Heart of Borneo.

Romy Cahyadi
(Director, ProVisi Education, Jakarta-Indonesia)

Romy Cahyadi is the Director and one of the founders of ProVisi Education, an education consulting company based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Romy has a Master of Engineering in Systems Engineering from Iowa State University, U.S.A. Romy has since 2002 been committed to education development programs throughout Indonesia. ProVisi Education in the past 7 years has been serving more than 2,000 teachers and 200 schools across Indonesia archipelago. Since 2006 ProVisi Education has held annual nation-wide teachers conference attracting in total of more than 2,400 participants. With his expertise in leadership and values education he has given seminars, workshops and been a speaker at numerous conferences. Romy has led training programs in Malaysia since 2007. He is a remarkable visionary and fully committed to devoting his life to betterment of teachers and students.
Kathryn Rivai
(Director, Sekolah Swasta Seri Insan, Kota Kinibalu-Sabah)

Kathryn Rivai,was born in New Zealand and currently living in Malaysia. She obtained a Masters Degree in Educational Administration and TESEL from Massey University and graduated Diploma in Education from Epsom Teachers College, New Zealand. She developed her teaching career in Malaysia, as a Vice Principal in Maktab National Private School, Kota Kinabalu from 1985 to 1997, and is a Founder and School Director of Sekolah Swasta Seri Insan Secondary School, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. In 2005, she joined Sampoerna Foundation in Jakarta, as the Director of a School Quality Improvement Program. During her career in Indonesia, she has implemented various improvement programs for schools in Depok, Balikpapan, Bandung, Sekayu, Bukit Tinggi, and Denpasar. She joined ProVisi Education in 1996 as School Development Program Director, and has worked on developing integrated school development programs for three schools in Aceh and for two schools in East Kalimantan.
